GABIN capsules contain gabapentin which is structurally related to the neurotransmitter (gamma-aminobutyric acid). • GABIN used in treatment of epilepsy and to relieve peripheral neuropathic pain. • Epilepsy treatment: gabapentin can be used to treat several types of epilepsy in adults and children over 6 year’s old. Gabapentin can be prescribed if the current treatment is no longer fully controlling the epilepsy. It can be co administrated with the current treatment or alone. • To relieve peripheral neuropathic pain: Many diseases (like shingles and diabetes) can cause damaging and long lasting pain to the nerves of legs and arms. These pains may cause numbness, cramping, burning, throbbing and tingling. Gabapentin is used to treat these long lasting pains

Your physician will determine what dose is appropriate for you. 1-Treatment of the epilepsy: Adults and adolescents over 12 years old • The initial dose: 300-900mg daily. • Doses lower than 600 mg daily shall be adapted by physician and pharmacist. • The dose may be increased progressively up to a maximum of 3600 mg daily in 3 divided doses. Children over 6 years old: • Doses are calculated according to body weight. • The treatment is started with a low initial dose gradually increased through a period of 3 days. • The usual dose: 25-35 mg/kg/day in three divided doses. Gabapentin is not recommended for use in children under 6 years old. 2-To relieve neuropathic pain: Your physician will usually build up your dose gradually. • The initial dose: 300-900mg daily. • Doses lower than 600 mg daily shall be adapted by physician and pharmacist.
